Since the war in Ukraine started I found it hard to continue with my art as usual. You feel the need to be constantly in the news feed, in contact with your loved ones and your friends. Doing something, anything to escape the nothingness of silence and your own panicked thoughts.
It’s hard to make sense of what is happening right now in Ukraine; of the sheer amount of violence and death, suffering and tears, fear and dread.
After some time I have found a need to be able to send my parents, my friends, anyone I cared about, something that would at least feel like hope. To send them “Слава Україні!” (“Glory to Ukraine!”) and receive “Героям Слава!” (“Glory to heroes!”) back, the motto that any Ukrainian knows by heart. Here you can listen to pronunciation.
